Chuck-E- Queso....

So for about 6 months now my dear husband has been dying to take Zech to Chuck-E-Cheese...You know I was brought up in this strange house where we didn't go to places like that. I think I went to one birthday party there as a child. Geez, what a deprived kid I was huh? LOL So although I kinda had a vague memory of what that place was like, and it reminded me today of my own personal hell, I decided I will be damned if Zechariah lives the robbed childhood that I did :). So off we went to see Chuck-E...and on a Saturday no less! Oh and we drug poor Grandpa with us too, but he's such a great sport, we love him! Here are my observations of the place after just one afternoon.

1. Whoa...there sure are a lot of germs in that pizza dump, ummm I mean joint. Being that it's flue season and the SWINE flu pandemic is out there, it was probably not the smartest idea having my immune-compromised husband amongst all those snotty, coughing, wheezing children now was it?

2. Do they like NEVER dry clean Chuck-E's costume? Man I feel for the poor shumks who have to put that sweaty ensemble on after the next guy for a whopping $5.25 an hour!

3. Perhaps the Chuck-E-Cheese corporation should look into providing some kind of child development training to their employees? I actually witnessed a Chuck-E waitress about take down a kid who ran towards the Rat with her arms wide open. Talk about a traumatic experience, all she wanted was a hug! Poor thing.

4. If your child has ADHD or a seizure disorder I suggest NOT taking him to this place. The lights and sound are at a stimuli elevation that I could hear coins clinging, children crying, and flashes of fluorescent in my sleep that night.

And 5. Ummm my people sure do like them some Chuck-E...perhaps they should consider calling it "Chuck-E-Queso"....I do believe Nathanael, Ted, and half of Zech were the only white people in the place! Hmph, who knew?! This may be a new phenomenon though, as I am Mexican and like I stated above, was never prvy to this kind of "fun" in my youth!

Daddy helping Zechy play some games...

See look at our dear Popo, being a saint and enduring the torture with a smile (Don't mind Zech's silly face he had food in his mouth)

"Ummm I'm not so sure about this ride people!"

This is better...

"I like Bob the Builder!"

But the favorite ride of the day was this one by far...

All in all the trip was a success! Nathanael got to fulfill his dream of partaking in this mayhem with his son and mommy and Grandpa got to chow down on some pretty yummy breadsticks! Next time we will be visiting on a Wednesday around 9am. I have now been schooled by my more experienced mommy friends that Chuck-E-Cheese on a Saturday is for fools! :)
