Shameless Confessions....

Ok so when people use to tell me "just wait till you have a baby" I would roll my eyes and think "whatever"....Now to some extent there are things that have not changed. For instance I still love my animals as much as I did before I had a baby. I still find time for socializing with friends, and I even continue to shower everyday (albeit sometimes not until 3 pm but hey, I get it done!). But there are some things I thought I would never do that I have...or rather, things that have happened that I would have never imagined, before having a baby. Sometimes you find yourself in a predicament and you shurg and just do it.....

1. I had to go to the DMV. I hate the DMV. But I had to go (it's a long story, I will not bore you with the details of why I had to make a visit to this horrid place). I decided to feed Zechy in the car before going in because I knew it would be a long wait and I needed him in the best mood possible. While I am feeding him on my lap, he goes potty in his diaper. Well I THOUGHT it was in his diaper. When he's done eating I pick him up to change him and realize, his diaper leaked!!!! All over my shorts....and now he also he has poo up the back. Thankfully I had a change of clothes for him. I strip him down, clean him up (thank God for wipies!) and get him dressed. But guess what? I don't have a change of clothes for me. So what do I do? Wipe off the excess poo from my shorts with a wipie and proceed to go into the DMV. What?! It's the DMV, people there have worse things on their shorts I figured. I totally had a conversation with a DMV manager with poop on my clothes. Never, would I have done this before having a baby.

2. I am in the parking lot of a shopping center. Zechy drops his pacifer. I pick it up and stick it in my pocket. I need to wash it off before he can have it back. We get into the car. Nathanael is driving so I'm in the backseat with Zech. Usually just having me back there with him appeases him but not today. He's screaming his head off. Nathanael says "where's his paci?" I take it out of my pocket. I hesitate for a second. Then I stick it in my mouth and "wash it off"...I give it to Zech...instantly he stops crying. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do! Nathanael looks at me with a sideways smirk and shakes his head...

3. I'm running late for an appt in the morning. I feed Zech and burp him over my shoulder. He spits up in my hair. I have no time to wash it out. I grab a paper towel as I run out the door and wipe it off. I figure it works like hair gel...kinda like that scene from "There's Something About Mary".

4. I go around with drool on me 23 out of 24 hours a day and it seriously does not bother me one bit.

5. I do not think baby vomit is gross. Well not MY baby's vomit, and not now anyway, it's just breastmilk regurgetated. Maybe when he's on solids I'll think differently.

If you have kids you know exactly what I'm talking about. And if you don't have children yet and you're sitting there thinking "ewww, I will never"...just wait. You will remember me and this blog entry that first time you decide to take care of some business with poo on your shorts :) Don't worry, I won't say "I told you so" but I will think it LOL!

p.s. Sorry for no pics this entry. I left my camera at my mom's over the weekend. I will get it back ASAP and promise pics in the near future.
