So yesterday I actually had to count on my fingers how many months my son was turning.....ummm really Norina? Guess that goes to show how crazy my life is. Also it's a guilty awakening that obviously I am letting time pass us by. Stress is an understatement in describing life at the moment. However, as cliche as it sounds, this little boy makes it all worth it. Actually my own little family together again makes it all worth it. So whether it be the dog getting bit by a spider, the other dog getting it's a$$ kicked by a stray cat, my father crashing into my car, being side swiped by a hit and run driver a few days later, the dishwasher breaking, the garage door springs spontaneously combusting, the rental car having a flat tire, my contracting some weird cough that won't go away, or my computer having a virus (yes ALL of this has happened in a matter of 2 weeks).....NOTHING will keep me/us down. Onwards we fight...Because it's all for Him...and him :)
Now would be a great moment in the blog to post some cute little picture of Zechariah but as mentioned previously, the computer has a virus and it's just not on the priority list at the moment to get fixed so no accessing said cute photos of Zech to upload for your viewing pleasure...but I can write about him so I will...
At 16 months (12, 13, 14, 15, 16...yes, 16 months ;) He just learned to say "no"...well it's more like "NEEEEOOOO!" with lots of conviction behind it. He loves using his new word. For. Just. About. Everything. Nathanael says it was cute for about 3 days. Being his mother, I still find it cute but starting to loose it's luster just a tad....
Today he also started saying "hi"...I am hoping this new word replaces the fascination with "NEEEOOOO" very soon. Yeah right.
His third favorite word is "mama" ...I know he's been saying this one for awhile but now he uses it in context. Like he will yell from another room "MaaaaMaaaaa!" and when I appear he smiles, cocks his head to the side and says "mama" in a sweet tone...I, then melt into a puddle on the floor.
He loves the dogs (darn computer virus, I have a really cute pic of him hugging Baxter that would just be too darling right here!!!), he loves him some Baily the cat (who in turn does not really love him back), he loves to play outside, and he loves to play ball with Nathanael on the bed before bedtime. Picture me, if you will, coming home from work at 10pm. Upon hearing giggles from the bedroom I proceed up the stairs and walk into the room thinking, there's no way he could still be up, only to find, Zechariah squealing with delight as Nathanael is throwing balls at him while the two of them are taking breaks to eat spoonfuls of ice cream every 2 minutes. I had to sit my husband down. Bedtime routine, this does not make.
He LOVES to see airplanes. He has this new little face he makes. His mouth pierces into an "ooo" like motion and he points and must have your attention because really you need to see this strange flying object too!
Signing...ohhh the signing, he is all about the signs and it is just too adorable (again pics or video here would be nice wouldn't it? Maybe I need to up getting computer fixed on my priority list after all). So although his vocabulary consists of a whole 3 words, he has about 15 or so signs he knows and uses on a pretty regular basis like: "milk", "more", "please", "ball", "cat", "baby", "daddy", "mommy", "blanket", "friend", "play", "bath", "refrigerator" (ok that one might sound like a random one but it's his favorite because it makes a similar motion as the one he makes when he likes to show off his muscles :), "eat", "flower", "sleep" and "outside". Upon hearing or seeing that Zech is signing I am often asked, "how did you teach him that?" Although it would be oh so fun to take credit for this endeavor, I actually didn't teach him. Baby Einstein did. Which then meant I had to sit down and watch the dvd myself in order to figure out what the heck my kid was saying!
His favorite foods are beans, rice, and salsa. Yes you read that correctly, salsa. He'll eat it right off the spoon. Ahhh, proof that he is half Mexican after all!!!
He gives the sweetest little kisses you ever did receive. Unless of course he doesn't feel like kissing. Then if you ask for one he begrudgingly comes over and offers you his cheek!
16 months...seriously where did it all go? I promise to keep better track from now on....that and to get the darn computer fixed so my next entry has pictures to colaborate my stories!!

Such a cute post. I want to see the airplane face! :)
Sounds like you and Mommyhood are getting along perfectly. TOO cute! Don't you love the way they can melt our hearts with a simple smile or a sweet "Mama". Sorry that you've had some crappy times . . . it all seems to happen at once, doesn't it?
fisher's favorite words are plug, vacuum, trash truck, phone, and airplane - alla loved airplanes, too, and for both of them it was one of their first signs! both of their first words (i think, bad mama was HI. isn't NO just lovely? ha!
