There's a First Time For Everything...

So we're at the vet for the second time this week (don't ask) and in walks a little boy, I'd guess around 4 years old. Zech's face lights up with delight as he is a big fan of kids...especially older kids. So over he runs to make friends with this guy. Well come to find out this kid....not so much the friendly type. He ignores Zech and walks over to the bins that hold the dog toys...Zechy quickly follows behind. There the boy takes out toys from the bin and tosses them on the floor...Zechy tries to imitate. The boy pushes Zech's hands out of the bin. Brushing it off, Zech quickly returns to putting his hands in the bins too. This time the boy pushes Zech away...a little stumble from Zech, but he bounces right back and again is doing what the little boy is doing. Now the boy pushes Zech harder. Zech, significantly surprised, almost falls backwards but catches himself. He looks at the 4 year old dead on...and...pushes him back! The kid immediately whips around and kicks him, causing Zech to fall to the floor. I run over to him, thinking he's going to cry any minute. To my shock he doesn't. I reach Zech just in time to block his little "Crocs" from making contact with this kid's shin...he was actually trying to kick the kid back!

I look/glare at the 4 year old's mother who glances up from her magazine and non chalantly says "sorry".

I pick up Zech, look at Nathanael and we exchange a knowing smile.

We just witnessed Zech's first fight.

Clearly the kid was bigger and stronger but our little boy took him on. And if mama wouldn't have intervened, my money would have been on Zech LOL!

I wanted to run out and buy a "My 1 y/o can kick your 4 y/o's a$$" bumper sticker but refrained.

That's our boy!
