19 Months!

Another month of growth, another month of development! It seems as if he blossomed overnight in terms of talking, repeating almost anything we say these days! (Take that all you doubters of my son's talking capabilities!) I was changing his diaper and in order to entertain him while doing so I'd say, "Say ball", "Say duck", "Say daddy" and in what I thought was a joke I said "Say Zechariah" and Zech says "RIAH!". It was sooo cute! I immediately called Nathanael at work, my mother (who was not home but my dad answered the phone and played along like a good grandpa), and my sister and right on cue Zech said "Riah" on the phone to each of them! Hearts melted across the San Gabriel Valley that day!

Other 19 month old antics include...the cat's litter box must be kept clean at all times as does the backyard of doggie mess. He literally runs around pointing out any "gifts" the dogs leave behind and insists we pick it up at that moment or he will not play. We can't decide if this is simple "cuteness" or the beginnings of OCD :) (Just Kidding). He is getting better and better at eating all by himself, he especially enjoys any kind of noodle at the moment in addition to his usual diet of rice, beans, berries, yogurt, and goldfish. He likes to imitate daddy while he works, coming alongside him with a screwdriver and "assembling" furniture, frames, etc too. I think this paticular trait calls for his very own tool set come Christmas this year, I will be sure to let Santa know. He dribbles a mean soccer ball with his feet...Nathanael seems to think this just comes naturally from his Mexican roots ;). He can jump two footed now and loves to play with/watch older children play. He will only watch one of 5 things on TV...The Wiggles (the first choice), Seseame Street, America's Funniest Home Videos, Supernanny, and of course Dancing With the Stars (shhh he does not know the season is ending, I have not broke the news yet, thank God for Tivo).

It's funny how such little things make you feel like your child really is the smartest, cutest, most amazing little being to ever walk the earth. Riah, happy 19 months buddy! We love you more then we ever dreamt possible!

Norina - Thank you for visiting my blog. I have a toddler too, he is 15 months. Please feel free to come by my blog any time. I am glad I could help. RA and Fibro are tough and quite often, it is hard to find others who understand.
