..And girl for that matter. I remember mine. Chester. My dad brought him home from work one night. It was late, I was getting drowsy on the couch. He walked in and said he had a surprise. And in bounded a chocolate lab mix. I was 4. Surely this was the best thing to happen in all my years on earth up to that point :). I grew up with him for 10 years. He was a good dog. He fetched and chased, kissed salty tears off my face, and gave hugs. He also spoke but no one believes me when I tell them that. He did really. In syllables. You told him the words and he would bark the syllables. Seriously. It was great! I love that Zech will have the experience of growing up with our dogs. Baxter, in particular is the gentle giant of the bunch. There is something very endearing about an animal who could harm you in a split second but never would.

In addition...you know I can't let this momentous occasion slide without a comment. A new day, a new America...I am so proud to bring up a child in this time of change. It adds to the hopes I already have for him....which are so immense. I love you Zechariah...remember no matter what your daddy says you are a democrat by default because I am your mother (it's kinda like being Jewish, if your mom is then you are too LOL!)
